Pink Friday was the first album I ever bought on iTunes and my mom was SO PISSED I used her credit card to buy something with explicit lyrics… I remember how seen I felt with Nicki’s ability to flip from sweetly “feminine” in her pop to aggressively “masculine” in her best raps. She was loud, creative and unapologetic, and I ATE IT UP. Nicki definitely paved the way for these rap girls to break genres and do whatever they want in their artistry, and I certainly feel like she’s gotten her flowers and should continue to receive that praise. It’s just too bad the way she’s gone as of late. Great review!
