Man this brings back memories. I grew up listening to alot of these remix albums and didn't even realize how different the approach was back then.

The point about streaming killing the remix culture is really intresting. It makes sense - why put effort into a creative remix when you just need another stream-boosting feature? Back in the day remixes felt like genuine artistic collaborations, not just adding a hot name to bump numbers.

KAYTRANADA is a great example of someone keeping that spirit alive. His remixes completly transform songs while still respecting the original. Would love to see more producers follow that path instead of the generic verse-swap formula.
